My new friend Amit AKA Doctor. To see all he does go to - http://wethepeopleareready.com
He launched a new shirt design called The Camiz which he is wearing in the photo.

That sign is for real! And that is the counter at George’s beside where I’d work on the computer in the humidity while listening to a chorus of car horns outside.

Justin Dube of Everlea & I filmed another little acoustic video for you to watch. This time it is a little interpretation of The National’s song Fake Empire
My girlfriend, Sylvia Waliczek, has been hard at work on some pretty sweet art for this upcoming group show. If you’re in the Toronto area, try to make it out to the opening night this coming Saturday or at least sometime the week after. Function 13 is a pretty sweet shop that supports Mountains and other local artists, check out the shop in general if you have time.

Anthony is the singer of one of my favorite bands, Circa Survive. While recording in Toronto last fall, he promised to write me some poems for Mountains. Here is one of the photos I shot of him, hoping to make something real cool for the magazine. Unfortunately, right away it just wasn’t working like I had wanted it to. We had a few minutes to do the shoot, it was pretty cold out and then Anthony was being called in to start warming his voice up to record some parts. We ended with some shots from other shoots and I always hated this photo. Either way, here it is for you to see now. If you want to see me shooting this photo, see the video below the photo (around 3:30 - filmed by Jamie Tanner who happens to also be in Mountains 2) & if you want to see the much better photos of Anthony along with his super interesting poems, pick up Mountains 2
Nada Alic runs an amazing blog that is gaining recognition daily. Due to the superior typing skills and frequent updates, you go there twice as often as you come here. Go now - www.friendswithbotharms.com
Nada has been a big part of Mountains and especially Mountains 2. On top of writing an inspiring introduction and helping inform you of all who all our contributors are, she has put together an amazing essay on the psychology of touring musicians. She likely interviewed your favorite band.
The flood is on its way.

Jess Baumung is a pretty great photographer. He shoots a little bit of everything but the energy he captures in live music is my absolute favorite. There is a feature on his photography, specifically the hardcore/punk scene, in Mountains 2. Get on that!

Some of the photos I shoot for Mountains never quite make it to print. So in order to get you stoked for Mountains 2 (see below), I’ll be posting a few of these of the next week. Here is a portrait from a sitting with Ross Corder that I thought was going to be the main shot for his little section. Anyway, there is nothing like this picture in Mountains and Ross is a rad dude. Check out his blog for some great recipes - http://veganeatsblog.com/ - and pre-order Mountains 2 for some other good eats.
